Sixth edition of our flagship entrepreneurship development program:
Building and Managing Social Enterprises
About the programme
ISEED organized the sixth edition of its flagship Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP)"Building & Managing Social Enterprises" from 26th to 28th June 2019.
The three-day programme was attended by 20 participants from diverse backgrounds across the country. Apart from regular sessions, the key highlights of this edition were open house marketplace where participants showcased their products and services to receive feedback and a belief fund to support one idea from the cohort which was unanimously selected by the cohort. Roshan Rathod from People's Science Institute was awarded the belief fund for her idea of community-based rural tourism and selling organic products grown by local communities of Uttrakhand.
The EDP was designed to encourage start-ups to think and plan activities differently. This was done using insights from innovation, design thinking and from lean start-ups, so as to enable social enterprises to build business models for growth and scale. This furthers our endeavor to add value and form a collaborative peer network of enterprises that are rural-minded, socially sensitive and impact-oriented. We intend to work closely with some of these early-stage social enterprises in the future and provide them with incubation support in their entrepreneurial journeys.
