India’s innovation and the entrepreneurial story often bypasses many underserved regions that are home to India’s poor. ISEED recognises the need for, and opportunity with, India’s farmers, tribals, women in improving their well-being by designing for inclusion and linking innovation and entrepreneurship with (rural) livelihoods.

Earth 360 Eco Ventures, an Anantapur based social enterprise, works on the processing of forgotten minor millets and bringing millets back into the mainstream diet and cropping patterns. ISEED has built the capacities of the founders, provided stategic advise and networking support to make them investor ready. ISEED has helped document their story and social impact. Seed capital support provided by ISEED has helped them develop scale appropriate machines for the millet value chain.
Millet Machines and Tools:
Millet Machines and Tools (MMT) works with a vision to enable millet revival in India via apt multipurpose farm mechanization at community level. ISEED has provided mentoring, strategic planning and advisory support to the founders, seed capital for developing a multupurpose millet dehuller and faciltiating the spread of the community level grader. ISEED has connected MMT to other investors, accelerators and the ecosystem that resulted in their competing and winning Vibrant Gujarat Startup Award.
Founded by an alumnus of IRMA, Paryawaran Mitra (PM) is a social enterprise working with women rag-pickers in Ahmedabad. Their collection centres and sorting and sale of waste helped women increase their incomes even as they were provided with greater dignity for their work through several activities. At their new centre, Suraksha Kendra, the additional element and innovation of direct waste collection and recycling has been added. ISEED has helped PM in the Institution building and training of staff and enabling transition of greater ownership of the community of rag-picking sisters. ISEED has also provided mentoring support in developing a training module for replication of the model of Suraksha Swachata Kendra and networking support for greater outreach and awards.
Grassroutes is a Mumbai-based social enterprise working towards creating livelihood opportunities for rural communities through community-based rural tourism. ISEED has provided advisory and strategic support to help its expansion to other states, building capacities of the team members and co-creating a vertical on community-based rural tourism for other partners in India.
Graamya works towards improving and diversifying existing livelihoods base in the villages of Kerala through a community centred approach. They work towards improving livelihoods in the villages by scouting and disseminating local innovations at the community level and setting up innovative livelihoods generation models like community-based rural tourism. ISEED has mentored and built capacities of the founders along with supporting them in disseminating apt local technological innovations to enhance livelihoods in the villages.
ONganic Foods is a leading organic foods company from Kolkata that envisions promoting better livelihoods for smallholders, health and wellness for consumers, and a sustainable planet. ISEED has built entrepreneurial capacities of the founder and provided networking support. ISEED chair Prof. Shambu prasad is the member of their advisory board. ISEED has also linked rural management interns with the enterprise to enable developing systems and market research.
I-Saksham is a non-profit social enterprise based in Bihar that works on ‘in-situ' educational and skill development services, with the aid of digital technology to enterprising young community educators (with mostly SC/ST/BPL background, females, or differently-abled), in remote and backward areas of Bihar. ISEED has helped in building capacities of founders at an early stage of the enterprise, provided, strategic advisory and networking support to help the enterprise raise funds and becoming investor-ready.
Ekam Eco Solutions designs and develops products related to ecological sanitation and sustainable living. Their products are inspired by nature and designed to sustain the local realities of a developing world. ISEED has enabled greater outreach of their idea and models. ISEED also provides opportunity for founders by training fellow entrepreneurs.
Rukart seeks to popularise appropriate and affordable technologies for small and marginal farmers to make them financially and environmentally sustainable. ISEED has helped by building the entrepreneurial capacities of the founding team members along with providing networking support for disseminating technologies.
Dhwani RIS is a development-oriented technology start-up founded by IRMA alumni with a vision to provide affordable, integrated, and smart ICT tools for organizations working at BoP levels. ISEED has provided mentoring support at an early stage of the enterprise and facilitated access to networks and funding opportunities.
SocioCatalyst is a management consulting firm focused on social development. It helps partners achieve their goals by channelizing the efforts geared towards their transformation and sustained progress. ISEED has built capacity of the founder and helped increase its outreach to NGO and CSR organizations.
Contree Foundation is a Jaipur based foundation that designs, develops, and implements creative social and development programmes that leverage the power of collective on-ground efforts of local citizens in terms of solving a wide range of problems related to the general public and underprivileged sections of the society. ISEED has helped built entrepreneurial capacities of the founding team, offered networking and advisory support and links to other incubators and funding opportunities.
Wonder Grass, a Nagpur based social enterprise seeks to bring bamboo based building systems into the mainstream of the construction industry. ISEED has helped explore markets for some of its products while providing advisory support to the founder.
